Regional biogeochemical mapping (and associated regolith studies) of the Cobar Basin for mineral exploration at regional to local scales
Use of biogeochemistry (cypress pine needles) as a primary sampling media at both a regional and local scale for mineral exploration. Apart from direct geochemical indications of buried mineralisation, the results will contribute to understanding of the processes involved in element dispersion in various landform-regolith settings, and from various deposit styles, in the Cobar region of NSW. ICP-MS will be the main analytical method and use of field portable XRF will also be evaluated.
